About
Operation Clean Sweep® (OCS) is a industry-led program that supports companies in their goal towards achieving zero plastic resin loss in operations.
OCS was founded by Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) in 1991 and is managed in partnership with the American Chemistry Council (ACC)’s Plastics Division.

Strengthen Program Rigor & Transparency
The OCS program strives to continually evolve and improve via greater transparency through external inspections, data reporting, and international program alignment.
Expand Scope & Participation
Expand the breadth of OCS to ensure participation within each supply chain segment and coverage across countries and regions where plastic resin is handled.
Create & Share Knowledge
OCS creates an environment to aggregate industry knowledge on how to prevent, recover, and properly dispose of plastic resin, as well as provide a venue to share innovative solutions to resin loss challenges through both formal and informal knowledge sharing.
Improve Recognition & Communication
Increase recognition of OCS as the premier industry-program advancing resin loss prevention to both raise awareness among stakeholders and policymakers, as well as achieve full participation across the plastics industry

Outside of the US, the OCS program has been implemented in more than 60 countries internationally through partnership with more than 25 associations.
PLASTICS & ACC’s Plastics Division
OCS was established by PLASTICS in 1991 and has been jointly administered by PLASTICS and ACC’s Plastics Division since 2004.
